info
Shinshu-Matsushiro Royal Hotel is situated overlooking the five peaks of Hokushin, along the crystal-clear waters of the Chikuma River. It is a sterling highland resort, orchestrating a harmony of natural beauty, history and culture. Matsushiro, known as the “little Kyoto” of the Shinshu region, retains clear vestiges of its past days as a castle town. Among the many popular tourist stops here are samurai manors tracked back to the powerful Sanada Clan of Japan's feudal era, as well as Kawanakajima, the site of a legendary 16th century battle waged between celebrated military commanders Shingen Takeda and Kenshin Uesugi. * The “five peaks of Hokushin” collectively refers to Mt. Iizuna, Mt. Togakushi, Mt. Kurohime, Mt. Myoko and Mt. Madarao.
