This facility features an onsen with a long and distinguished history that can be traced back 1,150 years, faces a garden imbued with the essence of nature, and offers quiet, authentic Japanese-style guest rooms. Scattered about nearby are a number of cultural assets, including Mikaeri-no-To, an octagonal three-tiered pagoda that has been designated a national treasure; a so-called uncompleted yet completed pagoda that is regarded as an important cultural asset; and a north-facing Kannon sculpture to whom prayers invoking benefits in this world are chanted. This area is a veritable treasury of cultural assets such that it is often referred to as the “Kamakura of Shinshu”. From spring to summer, meals are enhanced with edible wild plants. This inn is ideal for travelers wishing to enjoy their stay as they listen to the singing of bush warblers and cuckoo birds.
