Ishicho Shogikuen is one of the two Ishicho Ryokan's located along the Kamogawa River, and on the old site of Kogoro Katura's house, a noble patriot of the Meiji Restoration later to be known as Takayoshi Kido. The Ryokan now has modern facilities with a traditional Kyoto flavour. Highly recommended for those looking to stay in a traditional rkoyan and on an historic site within Kyoto.

Just 20 minutes by bus from the JR Kyoto station on the Kawaharacho line. Get off at Kawahara Machi Maruta Machi stop and walk for three minutes. It is also 15 minutes by car from the JR Kyoto station.
